Setting up, Updating and Reviewing Compliance Manuals

The CPD will cover the objective of a Compliance Manual, approval, review process, implementation, main policies and procedures, performing gap analysis and devising a training plan.

Description:

The Couse will go through the main policies and procedures of a Compliance Manual, the process to actually develop such a manual, procedure to keep such policies and procedures as a live document, the difference between procedures and policies, updating the Board of Directors with regulatory changes and the ensuing updating of the compliance policies and procedures, gap analysis and oversight of the implementation, control effectiveness for controls detailed in the policies and procedures and the drafting of a compliance training plan

  • What are the objectives of compliance policies and procedures?
  • Who is to approve such policies and procedures?
  • What is the frequency of the compliance policy and procedure reviews?
  • Who is responsible for the implementation of policies and procedures?
  • What are the main compliance policies and procedures for different financial service providers?
  • How to conduct a gap analysis of such compliance policies and procedures?
  • How to measure the effectiveness of compliance policies and procedures?
  • How to devise a Compliance Training Plan?

Compliance Officers and Senior Management of MFSA regulated entities

Assessment Questions and Answers:

In line with MFSA requirements, a short multiple-choice assessment will be provided by the trainer towards the end of the session. A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to all students who attend the CPD (duration will be included on certificate). A Certificate of Achievement will be awarded to those who sit for the assessment and are successful (pass mark 60%)

Full course: 2 hours

Hours include contact hours, supervised practice hours, self-study hours and assesment hours.
