The course will outline the requirements which emanate from the Conduct of Business Rulebook (COBR) and how these should be implemented by insurance intermediaries in their day-to-day operations.

This course will outline the main requirements of the Conduct of Business Rulebook for insurance intermediaries, namely disclosure requirements, conflicts of interest and the sales process. It will also delve into the requirements of the Product Oversight and Governance (POG) process, which relate to insurance intermediaries.

Target Audience

Individuals who are applying to become an insurance intermediary or individuals who are interested in a refresher course.

Assessment Questions and Answers

In line with MFSA requirements, a short multiple-choice assessment will be provided by the trainer towards the end of the session. A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to all students who attend the CPD (duration will be included on certificate). A Certificate of Achievement will be awarded to those who sit for the assessment and are successful (pass mark 60%)

 

Trainers

Edith Satchell, MSc (Melit.), BCom (Melit.)

Edith started working within the motor department of a local insurance company whilst obtaining her B.Com degree and Masters in insurance and risk management degree in 2019 and 2020, respectively. She moved to the reinsurance department within the same company after graduating in 2020. Edith eventually joined the Malta Financial Services Authority in 2022 and currently holds the role of senior analyst within the conduct supervision unit.
