Description

The threat posed by cyber risks to organisations continues to evolve and the insurance market develops its cyber insurance products and pricing to cater for this exposure.

In this session Mr Park gives an overview of how cyber insurers help their customers reduce and recover from cyber threats.

  • Financial protection provided under stand alone cyber policy
  • Pre and post loss risk management services provided by cyber insurers

Learning Objectives

By the end of  the workshop participants will be able to:

  • Describe the nature and types of emerging cyber threats
  • Explain how legal and regulatory developments impact cyber exposure
  • Describe some typical cyber claims
  • Explain what financial protection insurers provide to customers under a stand alone cyber policy
  • Explain what services cyber insurers provide to help customers both reduce their risks and recover quickly from cyber attacks
  • Identify current and future developments in the cyber insurance market

Assessment Questions and Answers

In line with MFSA requirements, a short multiple-choice assessment will be provided by the trainer towards the end of the session. A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to all students who attend the CPD (duration will be included on certificate). A Certificate of Achievement will be awarded to those who sit for the assessment and are successful (pass mark 60%).

Full course: 2 hours

Hours include contact hours, supervised practice hours, self-study hours and assesment hours.

Trainers

Neil Park

Neil is an experienced trainer and consultant currently working in the insurance industry                    in the United Kingdom and internationally. He delivers face to face and virtual workshops in technical insurance, broking and negotiation skills.  He also trains and supports candidates taking their Chartered Insurance Institute Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma examinations.

He draws on a strong commercial insurance background after working for twenty years for international brokers both in London and North America where he led teams and managed major client relationships.

He was study leader of the Insurance Institute of London Cyber Insurance Research group which published their findings in June 2022.
