How do I make my job stand out? The MLRO’s role is to be the independent authority within a company with oversight of all activity relating to anti-money laundering. The most important factor in the role of an MLRO is the freedom to act with authority and be informed of any relevant knowledge or suspicion within the company. It is also the responsibility of the MLRO to pass any issues and matters to the Financial Intelligence Unit. Do you have the necessary effectiveness skills to carry out these tasks? This course will provide you with a practical outlook to be able to make your role more effective.
Are you organised? There has recently been a dramatic increase in demand for specialists in regulatory compliance. This can be attributed to many reasons, namely companies’ risk aversion after the crisis, a change in the ethos of modern business, and probably a new wave of entrepreneurs that have learned from the mistakes of the past. With this comes heavy reliance on the skills and competences expected from the compliance officer who has to be (among other attributes) highly organised to meet deadlines and work within time frames. This session will provide a practical outlook on how a compliance officer should organise the functions of such an important profession.
Are you involved in risk management? Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) establishes the oversight, control and discipline to drive continuous improvement of an entity’s risk management capabilities in a changing operating environment. ERM continues to mature as a process, and organisations are finding many ways to implement practical ideas to continuously improve their risk management capabilities. This 2-hour webinar is delivered by an experienced practitioner who will go through the understanding of the roles, responsibilities and ultimate aim of Enterprise Risk Management and how, if properly implemented and managed, this may assist an organisation to reach its strategic objectives.
Are you aware of the consequences of a breach inf GDPR? A data breach occurs when the data held by a company suffers a security incident resulting in a breach of confidentiality, availability or integrity. If that occurs, and it is likely that the breach poses a risk to an individual’s rights and freedoms, the company/organisation in question, has a number of duties to preserve or else face financial consequences. As a person responsible or involved in GDPR matters on behalf of your organisation, you will find this brush-up seminar useful and informative since it has been designed to enable you to implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to avoid possible data breaches and penalties.
If you deal with motor insurance, you should attend this! The practice of underwriting is changing and will keep developing as more and more emergent risks bring about new and unprecedented risks and opportunities. This is especially true for the motor industry as we slowly exit the predominance of fuel-based powered vehicles toward cleaner means of transportation coupled with new technology and developments. In practice, those dealing with motor insurance have already experienced new risks with the advent of battery powered bicycles, scooters and vehicles.
If you want to keep up to date with the fast-paced developments in this field, a very specialised insurance professional will take us through the current scenario in the electric motor industry and will provide us with up-to-date information and insurance practices that will soon become the norm for those working in the motor industry.
If there is a specialised area of insuring risks, this will undoubtedly be cover for professionals who occupy a position of responsibility within a given firm/organisation. Such responsibility will of course, expose the professional practitioner to potential liabilities. Such liabilities stem from errors and omissions and other shortcomings for which the professional is financially expected to respond. Needless to say, insurance would serve as a safety net for such liabilities and the modern professional would today, more than ever, resort to such a mitigation method to alleviate financial loss.
The insurance of professionals is by no means straight forward and is very specialised and technical, presenting a number of issues and situations that require careful consideration. The speaker is a specialist with a lot of practical experience in the area of professional liability, and will present a number of situations together with the correspondeing solutions, invaluable for those working in insurance, particularly those in underwriting, broking or claims.
