Highly demanded courses planned for March 2022

22 Feb 2022

March is a very busy month for CPDs, as MITC lines up no less than 8 two-hour CPD sessions. This is the direct result of a high demand for certain programmes suggested by practitioners in the respective fields.

As usual, regulatory-based sessions are very much in demand. Those in a compliance position, or working in a compliance department, should attend the four sessions specifically focused on compliance to be held on March 2, 9, 10, and 17, covering roles, manuals and function. Directors should note that they are also expected by the regulator to keep up with knowledge in this field and a session assisting directors in understanding their responsibilities will take place specifically on 17 March. More details on all of the compliance programmes can be accessed here:

An innovative session on pricing will also be held during March. This session intends to assist insurance underwriters and those representing insurance companies to understand the nuts and bolts of the product premium. Those involved in insurance underwriting should benefit from this technical session delivered by an expert. More details can be accessed here.

As MITC has traditionally served the insurance industry, it was felt that MITC should organise more insurance-related programmes and address the health insurance sector by organising a session on underwriting and health claims. The session will be delivered by a seasoned professional who has been involved in this sector for over 15 years. For more information have a look at our website.

On the AML front, those working in this environment should attend a session scheduled for 16 March which will focus on the identifying and reporting obligations of suspicious transactions and activities as laid down by the FIAU.

Finally, we have also a session on internal audit scheduled for 30 March. The course is aimed at those who work in an audit environment and is suitable for both the novice and experienced practitioners.

Learning and development at MITC

MITC ensures that the training is diverse and far-reaching offering an opportunity to all those seeking to comply with the 12 hours of formal structured training. In this respect, we encourage to spread your training obligation throughout the year. We suggest you visit our site to check out what is relevant for your needs.

The CPD sessions planned by the MITC have been tailored in response to feedback received by the market asking for particular topics to complement their professional work. The CPD talks intend, above all, to provide the attendees updated and first-hand information on matters relevant to the business world.
